FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 3/3

21

Which analysis and evaluation functions are available?

All information created by the application is managed as a semantic network in a graph database. Any evaluation can be defined freely on the basis of these contexts and administered as artifacts of the ontology. A comprehensive report is generally created in less than one hour.
For example: Report on business artifact "IT Service" with the (variable) relationships and the respective data contents.

22

Which import and export functions are available?

There are various possibilities for a model-based data import/export using different adapter technologies. Entire ontology models or parts of these can likewise be exported and imported into other ARONTO servers.

A file-based data exchange is possible with SAP.
For example: Transfer of the ACTUAL status to the model

using mapping procedures with process-controlled monitoring.

23

Can different lifecycle states of an object be depicted?

The current lifecycle status of every object is displayed in every view.

24

Is automatic recording of changes to objects possible with indication of the cause and the changes?

A complete, audit-proof history (who, when, what) is managed for every artifact.

25

How are rights managed for users?

Rights are managed statically in relation to the data objects, menus, and reports and dynamically in the form of roles in terms of responsibilities for the lifecycle processes. User categories can be assigned in a dedicated manner by assigning work groups. Specific users can likewise be chosen selectively, even at runtime.

26

What level of rights can be defined?

Rights can be defined statically up to the artifact level and dynamically to the data field level. This can also impact the UI shown to each individual user depending on the respective permission level.

27

Can ARONTO be adapted to the individual needs and know-how of a user?

Portals, input screens, and reports can be configured and personalized comprehensively and are generated dynamically by ARONTO.

28

How is dialog with the user controlled?

Dialog with the user is performed on a task-driven basis through the lifecycle processes. Users are guided interactively through their task list and the task wizard.

29

How quickly can ARONTO be restored?

This depends essentially on the volume of data stored in the database. However, the automatic backup mechanisms guarantee restoration without loss of data, for example in case of a server crash.

30

Is multilingualism supported in ARONTO? And how many languages can be modeled?

ARONTO supports multiple languages. Every user can select the language individually for his or her work session, provided the language in question is available in ARONTO's foreign language database. The number of foreign languages is therefore not the determining factor. A new language can be created online at any time (JAVA's international language list is used).

The vocabulary used can be extended at any time into the new languages.
ARONTO uses Unicode internally. Texts can therefore be depicted in

every language. Transferred text documents are processed with the

application provided by the operating system. Text fields are depicted

in the selected language. The only restriction currently is the write

direction (from right to left) of the ARONTO text editors.
